Craig Kuligowski is a large man, as you'd expect from a defensive line coach. He's got some gray in his hair and beard, and his deep voice makes it easy to see why, when University of Miami defensive end Chad Thomas his first met his new position coach, he didn't quite know what to expect.
"When he first got here, I thought he was going to be like strict, like Marine, like Army-type," Thomas said Monday at team media day. "But nah."
At practice Tuesday, the man the Hurricanes refer to as "Coach Kool" wore a cowboy hat and sunglasses.
