CORAL GABLES — After entering training camp with an abundance of talent and depth, the Miami Hurricanes’ running-back room has been thrown into flux heading into the first game of the season.
Two running backs, third-year redshirt freshman Don Chaney Jr. and true freshman TreVonte’ Citizen, will miss the season-opener, leaving the Hurricanes with three healthy scholarship running backs for their game against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday.
“It just makes the next man have to prepare and be ready,” offensive coordinator Josh Gattis said. “What we do is what we do, offensively. Obviously, we’ve got some challenges in that running back room, but the guys that we do have healthy, we feel great about.
