Howard Schnellenberger passes away at 87 years of age

The legendary football coach, Howard Schnellenberger, has passed away at the age of 87. An Indiana native, Schnellenberger, has left behind a legacy in the state of Florida between his time with the Miami Dolphins, Miami Hurricanes, and FAU Owls.

Schellenberger is most remembered for his time as the offensive coordinator for the 1972 undefeated Miami Dolphins, and as the National Championship winning head coach of the Miami Hurricanes in 1983. Coach Schnellenberger won four national titles in the college football world and one Super Bowl in the NFL.

Schnellenberger played tight end at Kentucky from 1952-1956 before coaching wide receivers and tight ends for the Wildcats from 1959-1960.
