About three weeks ago, Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal and some of his assistant coaches had a meeting with sophomore defensive tackle Leonard Taylor and his mother.
The former five-star prospect out of Miami Palmetto High has shown moments of brilliance in his season and a half with Miami, but Cristobal wanted more.
“He broke down my film and basically told me what I needed to improve with and how to improve it, and then I had to gain more weight back first,” Taylor said. “Then basically [he] was telling me I had to grow up, I had to step up a little bit.
