Three current and three retired Miami baseball alums who played under Jim Morris have appeared in the Major League Baseball All-Star game. Nearly three dozen players who played at Miami under Morris reached the Major Leagues.
Current Miami baseball alums who played under Morris to be named to an MLB All-Star team are Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun, Cleveland Indians first baseman Yonder Alonso and Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal.
Alonso is the most recent Miami baseball alum to appear in the Midsummer Classic. He singled twice in two at-bats at Marlins Park in 2017.
