As the University of Miami prepares to face rival Notre Dame Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium, online shops have beefed up their inventory to include the latest bling bling — the UM turnover chain.
The thick, gold, “Cuban Link” necklace, which sports a bedazzled Canes logo, has become the team’s icon and the ultimate school-spirit accessory.
UM defensive coordinator Manny Diaz II, the son of the former Miami mayor, came up with the concept of placing the necklace over players’ heads when they intercepted a pass or recovered a fumble.
