Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has officially jumped into the Miami-Notre Dame playoff debate, backing the Hurricanes' head-to-head argument after fresh betting odds favored the Irish.
DeSantis posted Sunday on X in response to a graphic from betting analyst Todd Fuhrman that shared BetMGM's updated odds to make the College Football Playoff. The numbers showed Notre Dame as a solid favorite to reach the CFP while Miami sat as a long shot.
The governor wrote that if Notre Dame gets in and Miami does not, it would "further erode the importance of the regular season," and added that when records are identical, head-to-head should be the tiebreaker when choosing between the two.
