Gov. DeSantis, please fix our sad state of college football | Commentary

A memo to Gov. Ron DeSantis: Instead of spending all of this time and state money fighting to ban vaccine mandates, I’ve got a better idea: Why don’t you ban something much more painful than getting the jab — i.e., the tortuous and tedious college football being perpetrated on Floridians by our state teams?

I’m not saying it’s your fault, Guv, but it is on your watch. We were never subjected to this much bad college football under former governors Bob Martinez, Lawton Chiles, Buddy MacKay, Jeb Bush, Charlie Crist or Rick Scott.

Ah, who doesn’t long for those bygone days of yesteryear when our once-proud pigskin peninsula used to dominate college football; when Bobby Bowden at Florida State, Steve Spurrier at Florida and whoever was coaching at Miami were competing for national championships nearly every season?
