Redshirt sophomore backup quarterback and wide receiver Tate Martell returned to the Miami football program for the Hurricanes practice on Sunday night. Martell took a medical leave of absence from Miami for the Hurricanes win at Pittsburgh on Saturday. Martell has two carries for two yards this season.
Martell had one carry for three yards against Florida and one for a loss of a yard against FCS Bethune-Cookman. He played a critical role against the Gators as a decoy and in the Wildcat. Martell was in the game on DeeJay Dallas’ 50-yard touchdown run to give the Hurricanes the lead in the fourth quarter.
