Jacurri Brown had the chance to make his first career start in front of his family.
Brown is from Valdosta, Georgia, which is just across the state line from Florida and about three and a half hours away from Atlanta. His mother, cousins, friends and more made the trip to Bobby Dodd Stadium on Georgia Tech’s campus to watch the true freshman quarterback get his first career start.
“[My mother] just got in my ear and was like, ‘I told you. I told you. It’s God’s timing,’ ” Brown said after the game. “It’s crazy that my first start came in Georgia, and all my family was there to watch me.
