Former Miami Hurricanes standout, NFL player Carlos Joseph dies at 40

Former Miami Hurricanes offensive tackle Carlos Joseph died on Tuesday morning from a brain aneurysm. He was 40.

Famed Miami rapper Luther Campbell, a friend of Joseph who now coaches his high school alma mater, Miami Edison, revealed on his Instagram page on Tuesday that Joseph died.

Joseph had been battling for his life for nearly a week after initially suffering a hemorrhagic stroke last Wednesday, Campbell told the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Joseph played for the Hurricanes from 2000-03.
