Jon Richt's introduction to football came early, very early.
That's to be expected when your father was a quarterback for the Hurricanes and a savvy-offensive mind that worked his way up the coaching ranks at Florida State and East Carolina before eventually taking over his own program at SEC powerhouse Georgia.
He spent his life around the game, learning it, playing it and dreaming of one day following in his father's steps and one day coaching it. However, Jon Richt knew – perhaps more than anyone else – how demanding the hours could be, how intense the pressure is, and how time with family can easily be lost.
