Florida used a 12- 3 run midway through the second half to extend its lead to 67-50 and maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game in an 82-66 win over Miami on Sunday night in Jacksonville. The starting frontcourt for Florida was the difference in the game.
Preseason all-American Alex Condon scored 19 points and had seven rebounds and Reuben Chinyelu had 16 and 12 before both fouled out. Florida starting small forward Thomas Haugh had 16 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Malik Reneau led Miami with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Tru Washington scored 16 and Tre Donaldson 11 as the only other Miami players in double figures.
