The final week of the college football regular season summed up almost perfectly the state of the seven FBS programs in the state of Florida right now.
Florida, UCF and FAU each scored fairly easy wins and played to their strengths very well in doing so. Those teams are a combined 28-8 on the season and one those losses is FAU’s loss to UCF.
Florida International, Miami, Florida State and USF all suffered regular season-ending losses, the final three of which were embarrassing to once proud programs. In the words of former NFL head coach Dennis Green, these programs “are who we thought they were” right now after these performances this past weekend.
