Miami Hurricanes fans rarely give thought to that school in the swamps of Florida. Miami and Florida have played only six times since the Gators ended the series following their 1987 meeting. Miami and Florida had played annually with one exception from 1938-87. The programs did not play in 1943.
The series have had a plethora of back and forth since that inaugural 1938 game. The Miami Hurricanes won the initial meeting 19-7 in Gainesville. Miami lost the last meeting in Gainesville 26-3 in 2008. The Hurricanes won 21-16 the last time the teams played in 2013 at Hard Rock Stadium.
