Coral Gables regional preview: Hurricanes host first round, looking to reach first super regional since 2016

The Miami Hurricanes earned one of the top spots in the NCAA baseball tournament, getting the No. 6 national seed. Should the Hurricanes win their regional, they will get the opportunity to play at home all the way through to the College World Series.

But first, the Hurricanes have to win the first round: a four-team, double-elimination regional. If they win, they will reach the super regionals for the first time since 2016.

“One of our goals at the beginning of the year — we even talked about it back in the fall — is try to be a top-eight team at the end of the season, which gives yourself a chance to be playing at home for the right to go to Omaha,” coach Gino DiMare said.
