'Canes get mixed news on injury front as Cincinnati week begins

As the Hurricanes returned to the practice field and turned their attention to Cincinnati on Sunday after a brief bye week, there was mixed news on the injury front.

While Miami coach Al Golden said that “right now” linebacker Marques Gayot – who hurt his neck in a scary helmet-to-helmet collision and was airlifted to the hospital during Wednesday’s practice – is out indefinitely, he added that linebacker Jermaine Grace is expected to play Thursday against the Bearcats.

Grace, a former Miramar standout, dealt with both a possible head injury and a shoulder issue during Miami’s 36-33 overtime win against Nebraska last week.
