The Tennessee Titans fired head coach Brian Callahan on Monday after a 1–5 start to his second season and a 4–19 overall mark, naming senior offensive assistant Mike McCoy the interim head coach. Team president of football operations Chad Brinker said the move was made because the club "failed to show sufficient growth." The move now puts more pressure on Cam Ward as Tennessee next hosts New England, now coached by former Titans HC Mike Vrabel.
Mike Vrabel has as many wins through six games in New England as the Titans have in their 23 games since firing him.
