True freshman safety Bryce Fitzgerald had two interceptions on Saturday to help Miami secure a 10-3 College Football Playoff first-round win at Texas A&M. Fitzgerald drew praise from Miami head coach Mario Cristobal after the win over Texas A&M.
Fitzgerald returned his first interception 36 yards in the third quarter to set Miami up at the Texas A&M 20-yard yardline. After Miami went three and out, Carter Davis missed a 35-yard field goal that would have extended the Hurricanes' lead to 6-0.
The second interception by Fitzgerald sealed the Miami win. Texas A&M drove 70 yards in 10 plays over 1:20, putting the Aggies in position to tie the game.
