All the details on Miami’s new Turnover Chain, which debuted vs. Alabama but had to be put away

The mission when Miami Hurricanes coach Manny Diaz coordinated with jeweler AJ Machado to create the fifth edition of UM’s famed Turnover Chain was simple: Go bigger and make it a throwback to the championship glory of the Hurricanes’ past.

Machado, known as Miami’s “King of Bling,” who has created all five chains that celebrate the team’s defense creating takeaways and the three versions of the offense’s Touchdown Rings, knew exactly what to do.

The latest Turnover Chain is a clean, classic look. It’s a white Miami helmet that looks like the ones the Hurricanes wore during their run of four national titles over nine seasons from 1983 to 1991, with the the U logo in the center.
