98 Days to Miami football: Jerome Brown Hurricanes legend

Jerome Brown was a dominant force in the middle of the defensive line on the Miami football team in the mid-1980s. Brown set the standard for future greats on the interior of the Hurricanes defensive lines and those that followed him. Brown is the best player in Miami Hurricanes history to wear number 98.

Brown came to Miami after playing for Hernando High School in Brooksville, Florida. Brown started in the 1984 Orange Bowl as a true freshman. A game that Miami upset heavily favored Nebraska to win the Hurricanes’ first National Championship. Brown started in four New Year’s Day Bowl games during his career.
