Pat Bethel will anchor an inexperienced group of defensive tackles for the Miami football team in 2019. Bethel is the only returning defensive lineman for the Hurricanes with extensive experience in Manny Diaz’s defensive system.
Rising junior Jon Ford, rising sophomore Nesta Silvera and graduate transfer Chigozie Nnoruka will form the rest of the Miami rotation at defensive tackle in 2019. None of the three have played much or at all for the Hurricanes. Bethel had 22 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks in 2018.
Bethel has been described as workmanlike by the Miami staff.
