Defensive tackle Dan Sileo and tight end Randy Bethel were solid contributors to the Miami football program in the 1980s.

The Miami football program rose to elite status with the 1983 National Championship and subsequent titles in 1987, 89, 91 and 2001. The Hurricanes were built with stars players, but hard-working players are what led Miami to become one of the blue-chip programs in college football.

Randy Bethel was a solid contributor at tight end for the Miami football program from 1988-90. In three seasons, Bethel caught 44 passes for 541 yards and 10 touchdowns.
