Rising redshirt junior Tyreic Martin is now a 6’3 270-pound defensive tackle. Martin has been no more than a practice player throughout his Miami football career. In three seasons with the Hurricanes, Martin has yet to get on the stat sheet. With Manny Diaz getting his own players on the roster Martin faces a tough challenge.
Pat Bethel is the lone returning starter at defensive tackle. Graduate transfer Chigozie Nnoruka from UCLA, rising junior Jon Ford, rising sophomore Nesta Silvera and rising redshirt freshman Jordan Miller are all ahead of Martin. South Carolina and Missouri were the only other Power Five schools interested in Martin.
