Richard Mercier was a fixture on the offensive line for the Miami football team in the 1990s after matriculating in Coral Gables from Montreal.
Richard Mercier started 48 games for the Miami football program during the 1990s. Mercier started all 48 games during his college career and was named first-team All-Big East as a junior and senior in 1998 and 1999. As a senior, Mercier was named a first-team All-American by The Sporting News and Pro Football Weekly.
Mercier signed with the Hurricanes as the second-ranked college recruit out Canada.
