Miami football commits tight end Elija Lofton, linebacker Vincent Shavers, wide receiver Chance Robinson and defensive lineman Daylen Russell are on teams ranked in the Max Preps preseason Top 25. Miami currently has the 30th-ranked 2024 class with more commitments expected in the next week.
Lofton plays for the preseason second-ranked team nationally, Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. The Gaels won their 12th state championship in the last 13 years and 19th overall last season. Bishop Gorman finished 14-1 overall. Lofton has 52 receptions for 1,263 yards and has averaged 24.
