Nigel Bethel Jr. is entering his redshirt freshman season after playing one game in 2018. Bethel recorded a solo tackle in his collegiate debut against Savannah State. The 6’0 alum from Miami Northwestern gives the Miami football team length and depth at cornerback.
Bethel faces a tough battle to be a part of the Hurricanes rotation. Trajan Bandy returns at one starting cornerback. Sophomores Al Blades and D.J. Ivey who were a part of the 2018 Miami recruiting class with Bethel are competing to start opposite Bandy.
True freshmen Christian Williams and Te’Cory Couch are expected to be a part of the Miami rotation at CB behind Bandy, Blades and Ivey.
