Canadian third baseman and 2025 Miami signee Tim Piasentin and incoming Hurricanes transfer pitchers Danny Macchiarola from Holy Cross and Easton Marks from Florida International were all selected in the Major League Baseball Draft on Monday.
Piasentin was selected in the fifth round by the Toronto Blue Jays, Macchiarola in the eighth round by the Seattle Mariners and Marks in the 19th round by the Colorado Rockies. Miami shortstop Jake Ogden, leftfielder Max Galvin and rightfielder Derek Williams, who were draft eligible, were not selected.
Getting Galvin, Ogden and Williams back with third baseman Daniel Cuvet will set the foundation for the 2026 Miami lineup.
