Just as the Miami Heat were riding high on a four-game win streak, bad news came across the wire. The team announced that guard Tyler Johnson will undergo shoulder surgery and is expected to miss at least two months.
Johnson, who has missed the last two games with the injury, will undergo rotator cuff surgery on his left shoulder Wednesday. The 23-year-old guard had been a huge part of Miami’s bench unit, averaging 8.7 points, 2.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 24 minutes per game. His instant offense and eagerness on defense often energized second units and starters he played along with.
