MRI reveals two bone bruises that will keep Heat’s Jones out at least six weeks

Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr. has two right knee bone bruises and will be out at least six weeks, an MRI revealed Monday. He will begin treatment immediately and be evaluated in early March.

Jones suffered the knee injury with 10:45 remaining in the second quarter of Sunday’s win over the Knicks and he was forced to miss the rest of the game.

While Jones, 21, was driving to the basket on a fastbreak, he was fouled by New York’s Allonzo Trier and looked to come up awkwardly on his right leg. The Madison Square Garden crowd was silent with Jones down on the court after a replay was shown on the video screen.
