Does this sound familiar? A year after Hassan Whiteside made waves by saying he’s “just trying to get his 2k rating up,” the Miami Heat center said, after a win over the Dallas Mavericks in which he finished with 25 points and 19 rebounds, that he’s turned his attention to the NBA All Star voting.
As of the first returns, Whiteside was in ninth place of all Eastern Conference front court players with 72,923 votes. Teammate Chris Bosh is in seventh. Andre Drummond is the only other true center with more votes than Whiteside, but the NBA recently redefined the center position in favor of three front court players in the starting lineup.
