Miami Heat sign BJ Johnson to complete training camp roster

The Miami Heat filled their training camp roster to the maximum 20 players with today’s signing of guard/forward BJ Johnson.

Johnson, 24, spent two seasons with LaSalle University after transferring from Syracuse, averaging 20.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.30 steals and 35.2 minutes while shooting 44.6 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from three-point range and 86.9 percent from the foul line as a senior during the 2017-18 season. He was an All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and NABC All-District Second Team selection.

After going undrafted, Johnson had stints with the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Orlando Magic and their G League affiliate Lakeland Magic in the G League during the 2018-19 season.
