Having not appeared in the Miami Heat’s last four games, rookie guard Josh Richardson is on his way to the team’s D-League affiliate the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Richardson is a second-round pick out of Tennessee who is on a guaranteed contract. He figures to at least be a part of the team’s short term future, and the Heat are clearly seeking to get him some practice in the D-League. Miami has used the Skyforce in the past to get guys like Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Johnson some playing time before calling them up to the NBA level.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Richardson did not fly back with the team from Memphis after Tuesday night’s loss to the Grizzlies.
