Let’s start with the positives: Hassan Whiteside can be dominate. He’s leading the NBA in blocks by a wide margin at nearly four per game. He shoots better than 60 percent from the floor, mostly thanks to his ability to muscle his way to the rim and, though he’s raw, his talent is undeniable. At times, he can be the Miami Heat’s best player.
But his inconsistency and attitude have been frustrating. Whiteside, an unrestricted free agent after this season, will cash in. Somewhere. It might not be with the Heat, the team that gave him his stage.
