Miami Heat star Victor Oladipo will undergo season-ending surgery on his right quadriceps tendon.
The team said the timetable for his recovery is unknown for now.
The Heat gave up so little to acquire the 28-year-old ahead of the 2021 trade deadline partially because of his contract but largely because he hadn't been the same player since rupturing his right quad tendon in January 2019.
Miami then had a scare in its victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on April 8, when Oladipo immediately grabbed at his right knee after landing from a two-handed jam in the fourth quarter.
