Miami Heat guard Tyler Johnson will have surgery to repair an issue with his left rotator cuff on Wednesday and is expected to miss two months.
Johnson, who is averaging 8.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 36 games this season, has had the problem since his college days, and he and the team were hoping to hold off on the procedure until the offseason.
His injury leaves a void with only Gerald Green remaining as a 3-point specialist. The Heat open a three-game road trip Tuesday against the Houston Rockets.
