Florida has had at least 1,088 people die from coronavirus, the state said Monday. A total of 32,138 individuals have tested positive.
In Miami-Dade County, where the bulk of the outbreak in the state exists, the 302 people who have died account for 28% of the state’s total. As of Sunday morning, the state reported 11,570 infections in Miami-Dade County.
The coronavirus death toll in the United States is 54,877, including more than 17,280 victims in the national hot spot of New York City. The country’s total number of cases is approaching 1 million. It stood at 965,951 on Monday morning.
