Bittersweet reality Heat fans must accept after forward-thinking free agency

Now that the NBA's Free Agency period has pretty much come to a halt, it's quite clear that there's a bittersweet reality Miami Heat fans must accept. It's as simple as this: even though this season may not result in a ton of on-the-court success, that doesn't mean it still can't be a fun year.

In a perfect world, there'd be a place for both this season. However, as the Heat's front office prioritized the future with their moves this summer, it's pretty clear that they plan to build toward a big move in 2026.

That means this season will almost certainly represent a "gap" year for the team, and that will likely equate to only marginal improvement in terms of wins and losses.
