Trending Heat Rumors: "Mutual interest" between free agent Kyle Lowry, Miami

In today's Heat rumors and news, whether or not the entire Big 3 is still intact for the 2014-15 NBA season, the Miami Heat have pinpointed Toronto Raptors free agent Kyle Lowry as a potential signing this offseason.

Per Matt Moore of CBS Sports, ESPN's Brian Windhorst had this to say in a video interview: "The guy who has mutual interest with the Heat and who fits a position of need is Kyle Lowry."

Lowry is an unrestricted free agent, and may be able to command a max contract either from the Toronto Raptors or from other potential landing spots.

However, in order for the Heat to grab Lowry, he would most likely have to accept a discount - followed by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh all opting out and accepting less money.

Yet, if they can swing it, Moore believes that this would be the perfect fit for Miami:

Lowry would provide them with a point guard who could bring the ball up the floor and manage the offense. He's great in transition, shot 38 percent from the outside this season and is a bulldog defender. He's also tough as nails, something the Heat could use on the perimeter. Adding Lowry would also mean that Dwyane Wade could rest more, a paramount concern after Wade struggled in the Finals despite sitting out 20 games during the year.

We'll have more on this potential deal as additional information is made available.
