Win or lose: What the Dolphins need to beat the Chargers

SAN DIEGO—The Dolphins easily could have arrived at this game with little at stake, but three straight wins catapulted them to a place where they can establish a winning record for the first time since Week 16 of the 2014 season.

If Miami is going to pull that off and keep itself in the playoff picture, here’s what needs to happen:

The secondary has to hold up against Philip Rivers.
Rivers is putting up a sharp season at nearly 35 years old and presents a major challenge for the Dolphins’ patchwork secondary.
