Street Near Griese's High School Stadium Re-Named In His Honor

EVANSVILLE, IND -- On Tuesday, June 16 in Evansville, Indiana, the former Maxwell Street was officially be re-named “Bob Griese Pass” and a monument was unveiled in honor of the football great who grew up and went to high school there.

The Griese dedication took place outside the main gate at Bosse Field in Evansville. Among the special guests on hand were Leroy Keyes, Griese’s former Purdue teammate, Miami Dolphins great Nat Moore, and current Purdue football coach Darrell Hazell. The dedication was open to the public.

Bosse Field was the home field for Griese’s football games where he starred at quarterback for Rex Mundi High School.
