Report: Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill not expecting full ACL reconstruction

The and Ryan Tannehill believe he will not need full ACL reconstruction surgery as he recovers from a season-ending knee injury, NFL Network reported today. That’s a positive as the team tries to get him ready for next season.

Tannehill sprained the ACL and MCL in his left knee on a hit from Calais Campbell on Dec. 11, and his rehabilitation status has been murky ever since. He was working toward playing the week of Miami’s playoff game at Pittsburgh, but a week later the team remained unsure how serious the injury was. Surgery might still be necessary, but the full ACL reconstruction procedure would have jeopardized his availability for the start of the season.
