The 53 participants at the Dolphins rookie minicamp got a treat after their morning practice Saturday, a speech from arguable the greatest coach in NFL history.
Don Shula attended practice and later addressed the players during a speech that drew several rounds of applause.
“He was just giving us a lot of great words of wisdom and he kind of was giving us a little bit of a history of what he went through during his coaching seasons with the Miami Dolphins,” running back Jay Ajayi said. “He was just letting us know about how they were kind of not very good before and how they kind of improved and ended up having the big undefeated season and winning back-to-back Super Bowls and stuff like that.
