CARLSBAD, Calif.—After weeks of relying on the back end of their depth chart at tight end, the Dolphins are on the cusp of getting starter Dion Sims back.
Sims has been out with a concussion since Oct. 16, but has been practicing and is cleared medically to play Sunday at San Diego. He was a full participant in this afternoon’s session at a high school in Carlsbad, and now the decision hinges on whether he and the coaching staff believe he’s ready.
“Things are looking good right now for us,” coach Adam Gase said. “We’ve got a good chance for him to be active…We’re just going to make sure we get all the way to Sunday.
