Miami Dolphins Jim Caldwell stepping back amid med concerns

In a released statement from the Miami Dolphins, Jim Caldwell will leave the team as a full-time coach while he handles some medical concerns that need his attention. While he will not remain a coach on the team, Caldwell will still be an advisor to Brian Flores and the other coaches.

Caldwell, the former head coach of the Detroit Lions, joined the team this off-season as the quarterback’s coach and assistant head coach. A replacement for his duties has not been named but those responsibilities will likely land on the shoulders of the teams assistant QB coach.

The team is 11 days away from training camp’s full start and only eight days away from the rookie report date, July 21st.
