Miami Dolphins got lucky by not drafting Andrew Luck who is retiring

For all the begging and praying for Andrew Luck in that 2012 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins settled on Ryan Tannehill at number eight. Now, after only seven seasons, Andrew Luck is hanging it up and calling it quits.

According to Adam Schefter, Andrew Luck has informed Colts owner Jim Irsay that he is retiring. A press conference is expected to be held tomorrow. Schefter says that Luck is mentally worn out.

Luck has battled shoulder and arm issues the last several years so in a way, it is not a big surprise. The loss of Luck however immediately puts the Colts on the QB needy list heading towards the 2020 draft when several quarterbacks are expected to go in the first five picks.
