Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores releases statement on George Floyd, Minneapolis events

Following the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores released an exclusive statement to ESPN on Friday morning. Flores, one of four minority NFL head coaches, said he hopes his words can help create change and a higher level of understanding in many communities.

Flores said he has been affected by the deaths of Floyd, Taylor and Arbery, who are all African American. Floyd, a 46-year-old man, died Monday after a Minneapolis police officer put his knee on Floyd's neck to pin him to the ground. Floyd's death has shaken the Midwestern city and sparked protests in cities across the United States.
