DAVIE — As aggressive and physical as Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard is on the field, he is soft-spoken and cautious in media interviews. But Howard let his guard down on Wednesday when asked how many games it will take to no longer feel like a rookie.
“I was thinking maybe two,” Howard said. “Two more games.”
Veteran safety Walt Aikens chimed in: “Second year, game three!”
Second-year cornerback Bobby McCain perked up: “A rooks a rook!”
Howard smiled. Howard laughed.
“They’re still going to treat me like a rookie, no matter what,” he said.
