A year ago, Andrew Franks was a unknown, undrafted and, judging solely by his background, unlikely to stick in the NFL.
Today, he’s the Dolphins’ incumbent kicker and a lock to win the job. And if you want to know how the self-confidence in this kicker out of RPI has skyrocketed, consider the circumstances in which he made himself enormously popular with teammates with one swing of his leg.
The deal was simple. If Franks made his kick, coaches would call Camp Gase 1.0 a wrap. Everybody could finally kiss training camp and the hotel life goodbye.
If it’s not 65 yards, it’s no ‘real challenge’ for Miami Dolphins’ Andrew Franks
