Selecting Isaiah Ford in the seventh round is considered a huge steal for the Dolphins. Getting great value was a running theme for the Dolphins this draft. The Dolphins are stacked at the wide receiver position but the value was too great for the Dolphins to pass up. I believe that is one reason for the selection.
The second reason is if Ford is successful we will have leverage with contracts when it comes to Parker and/or Landry. The last reason I believe Ford was selected is for Carroo insurance. Carroo was a third round pick that we gave up way too much to trade up for him not to work out.
